Trekking From Lloa To Mindo + The Adrenaline Tour

Trip Details

3 Days / 2 Nights

Day 1. Tour of the Cinto River

We'll leave Quito early towards the south of Quito following the contour of the Guagua Pichincha volcano. The excursion usually lasts about 8 hours, climbing down from 2,600 meters to 1,500 meters above sea level; a 1.100 m. height difference. This is a hike with many obstacles. We'll follow beautiful trails to cross multiple rivers with spectacular scenery and then continue along these paths until we reach an abandoned farm, where we'll camp. The Cinto River will be with us throughout most of our trip. We'll be able to admire a variety of birds and butterflies. BL / C

Day 2. Trekking through the cloud forest of Mindo

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we'll grab our gear and embark on a nice 8-hour day walk. For 2 hours we'll be following the left margin of the Cinto River, until reaching a wooden bridge. Most of the route runs along a trail that transverses a cloud forest rich in flora and fauna where we will reach Mindo, at 1,300 meters above sea level. This is a day of incredible adventure through forests, valleys and rivers. Experiencing the great variety of ecosystems is part of this trek's special charm. In the afternoon, our private vehicle will be waiting for us.

Day 3. Canopy above the Cloud Forest

Today, we'll be taking an extra dose of adrenaline. After a great breakfast, we'll venture over the cloud forest. We'll be using about 3500 meters-worth of cable rides, divided into 10 different stretches (from 20 to 400 meters long), allowing us to experience an amazing ecological adventure. All the cables, harnesses, helmets, carabiners, gloves and pulleys used, are of the highest quality and meet all international safety standards. Upon returning to Quito, we stop in Tulipe where the special attraction is its association with the ancient pre-Inca civilization (Yumbo). We'll visit little-known archaeological sites (Tolas), the museum, and then return to Quito.
